The Manchester Beacon for Public Engagement presents a sharing and networking opportunity at MMU's Special Collections as part of the Manchester Beacon Summit Week 2009...

"ENGAGED LEARNING: LESSONS FROM MMU'S PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT FELLOWS"

11TH NOVEMBER, SPECIAL COLLECTIONS, 3RD FLOOR, ALL SAINTS, 09hr00 - 13hr00

In late 2008 MMU launched an innovative search to find the best two-way public engagement ideas from amongst its staff. After an online public vote, seven "public engagement fellows" were crowned and set about transforming their engagement ideas into practice.

Opened by MMU's Vice-Chancellor Professor John Brooks, this event focuses specifically on the learning that has come out of the programme so far, from both a university and a community perspective.

You'll get the learning from creative arts projects with schools, heritage projects with african and caribbean communities, conferences focused on overcoming exclusion amongst Manchester's young black males, co-production projects and engagement using social technologies.

This event will close with a networking lunch.
